Insulation? Not so much

Seems like my server house need som more insulation at some point. It will probably be easier to keep it cool in the summer, and warm in the winter. :)

My 1-wire network of DS18S20

People say that you need resistors or something in the end of every tree you make with 1-wire networks in order for them to work, I beg to differ. My network works like a charm and it’s a complete chaos without any soldering! :D

This is my network. Okay, it’s in norwegian, but all the text is basicly only rooms in my house.

Festivals 2009

2009 was a REALLY good year! I said to myself in the spring that I should go to a couple of festivals – and what a summer it was!

  • Roskilde Festival
  • Stavernfestivalen
  • Slottsfjellfestivalen
  • Totensafari(!)

I don’t really know any hard facts on this, but as I can see there is around

  • 20 Flamejets
  • 240+ Moving heads
  • 240 LED Panels
  • 240+ LED Bars
  • Probably 20-60 lasers
  • Lots of halogen sunstrip bars

This is ofcourse a SUPER overkill, but what the heck. If the motto is “because we can”, then yes. You can! :)

Steak, Guinness and Sherlock Holmes!

Posted: January 4th, 2010 | Author: William Viker | Filed under: Common, English Posts, Hverdagsbloggen | Tags: , , , , , | No Comments »

Christmas is over, no more lying around in bed all day, drinking and being hung over after the day before.

Reality is back. It’s quite allright, actually.

So, as a last vacation day “celebration” – what can one do? I’ll tell you what I did:

  • Steak (medium rare!)
  • Cinema (Sherlock Holmes)
  • Pub (Guinness)

Good stuff.

(no, not my own nails, fyi)

Outage: Dump.no

Unfortunately our beloved file sharing service dump.no has been down the entire Christmas due to a stupid blade center server not starting after powerloss (or remotely) at the server center.

We hope to get it up running now that the holidays are over, and people are getting back to work again :)

iPhone 3Gs 32Gb

Aah, after loosing my first iPhone at the Roskilde Festival last year, I’ve never really gotten around buying a new one. Until now, and in the time between I’ve pretty much tried out every cool phone there is at work.

And I got to admit. iPhone is by far the best product.

  • Windows mobile: Burn in hell.
  • Symbian: No cool stuff.
  • Android: You’re getting there. If it wasn’t for the iPhone, I would definitely without a doubt have bought an Android phone.

And to the other systems out there: ..try harder :)

Since me and my friends are doing alot of random development/work on not necessarily useful software/scripts/projects, we decided to make a webpage to post our stuff.

We’re far from done with the web site itself, so, it will probably take some time until we can get up some proper content there ;)

Pretty much just a hybrid between our own ways to do stuff and sourceforge.net ;-)
